June update

Dear Friends,

When I wrote our last letter on May 17th, we were in Lubbock, TX. Since then, we have been to Arlington, TX; Shady Point, OK; Salinas, KS; and a few places in between. We are very thankful for all the family and friends who have extended hospitality to us along the way. We are now back in the Pacific Northwest and spending quality time with family and friends before we leave.

Thank you for your continued prayers. In answer to these prayers, we now have Esther's passport! Also, in answer to prayers, our van made it to Texas and back with only one minor breakdown. A fuel line popped off the fuel filter at 1:00 AM in Western Wyoming. I was able to tape it back on and drive to the next town where we replaced the fuel filter. Please continue to pray for our work permits. Once we have our work permits, we will book an official departure date. We would like to move in late August or early September as that is when the next term begins in August at ACU.

Many of you have asked us where we plan on living when we first get to Zambia. It was not something we had been putting a lot of effort into as we do not yet have an official move date. However, in God's good timing, He has called a family previously working at ACU back to Canada, and we are planning on taking over their lease and purchasing their vehicles. We are very thankful for this opportunity as it has greatly simplified the logistics of setting up a new home in Lusaka.

In family news, we are expecting our fourth kiddo this December. We are very excited to be having a child in Zambia and would appreciate prayers for this new life in our family. Also, please pray that Faith would have energy and good health as we road trip around the Northwest and prepare for our move.

Although we have received enough one-time gifts that we now feel confident that we can move to Zambia as soon as we have the correct paperwork, we are still raising support. The most helpful support for us at this time is continued support that will allow us to sustain our mission in Lusaka. Sincerely,

The Madsens

Prayer requests:

•Continued prayer that the work permit process goes well.

•That we remain thankful, content, and enjoy our time with family and friends as we wait for the work permit.

•That Faith and the baby would remain healthy as we travel
