As you may recall, in the spring of 2022, an anonymous donor pledged a large one-time gift to our mission. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the donor was unable to fulfill their pledge at that time. We are thrilled to report that the same donor has come through for us this spring and has provided us with significant financial support. While this has alleviated the immediate need for funds to move to Zambia, we are still actively raising monthly support to continue our mission work there.
Recently, our church hosted a missions conference in Moscow, which was well attended by people from across the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and other parts of the US. One of the keynote speakers was Voddie Baucham, the Dean of Theology at ACU. During our visit to Zambia in 2021, we were unable to meet with Dr. Baucham due to his travels, but we were finally able to catch up with him during the conference. We discussed his perspective on the progress at ACU and also shared our common interests, such as cooking and the possibility of elective courses that bridge the theology and agriculture departments. We believe that stewarding the earth in a God-honoring manner is an important topic and hope to pursue it further at ACU.
During the conference, Isaac was given five minutes to talk about ACU and our mission work in Zambia to the attendees. It was a record-breaking audience for him, and many people stopped by our table to discuss agriculture, even independent of the work at ACU. We enjoyed engaging with a farmer from Alberta, Canada, during a break in the exhibit hall.
We are still waiting for both Esther's passport from the State Department and our work permit from Zambia. We have decided to apply for the work permit through an agent familiar with the government processes in Zambia, based on the advice of the Action-International missionaries currently working there. We are hoping that this will expedite the process, and we appreciate your prayers for a successful outcome.
In conclusion, we are grateful for the large one-time donation and continue to ask for prayer for our monthly support needs. Please join us in prayer for the success of our work permit application and the timely receipt of Esther's passport.
Thank you for partnering with us in this important mission.
Happy Easter!
In Christ,
The Madsens
Our current prayer requests:
•That God would continue to pave the way before us.
•We are still waiting on Esther’s passport. We would appreciate prayer that the state department would see fit to send us the passport.
•For full support so that we can move to Zambia and teach in person.
