Since we (Faith and Isaac) were children both of us have had the desire to work overseas. This blog is the story of how God is fulfilling this desire as we prepare to move to Lusaka, Zambia to join the work of African Christian University (ACU). But why ACU and Why Zambia?
In January of 2017 Voddie Baucham came to Moscow Idaho (where we currently live) and it was through his visit to Moscow that we first heard about ACU. At the time ACU was looking for faculty to join in teaching the agriculture departments. Over the next few years we tried reaching out to ACU without any response (it turns out the contact forms we were using were not going anywhere). Finally in 2019 we were able to establish a lasting connection with the folks at ACU, and we planned to make a visit to ACU in 2020. However, COVID-19 hit and we delay our visit. Finally in September of 2021 Isaac was able to visit ACU. He taught some courses in person and met a number of the faculty and students. This confirmed our desire to serve at ACU, and we began pursuing this goal with more focused prayers. Specifically praying for God to reveal his will to us and to provide us with the funds necessary to move to Zambia. God answered these prayers through a large and unexpected pledge in spring of 2022. With this further confirmation we have begun actively pursuing moving to Zambia. Since the spring we have been meeting with the elders our local church (King's Cross in Moscow), applying to work at ACU, and applying to go with a mission organization. The mission organization we are going with is called ACTION-international you can read more about them here.
Now in December of 2022 we have been accepted as full time faculty at ACU and ACTION-international. We hope to move early in 2022. Currently we are working on applying for work permits, spending time with family, and continuing to raise ongoing financial support.
